Revision Engine — Never Forget What You Earned
You mastered Fiscal Policy three months ago. Can you still write a 10-mark answer on it today? Without structured revision, most of what you study fades within weeks. The Revision Engine uses the SM-2 spaced repetition algorithm to schedule revisions at the mathematically optimal moment — right before you forget.
How SM-2 works in PrepParity
Every earned note starts with a 1-day revision interval and an easiness factor of 2.5. When you successfully recall the content during revision, the interval grows — 1 day becomes 3, then 7, then 17, then 40. Each successful recall pushes the next revision further out.
If you fail a revision, the interval resets to 7 days and the easiness factor decreases slightly — the system recognises this topic needs more attention. The floor is 1.3, ensuring even difficult topics eventually space out with enough practice.
What you get
Streak + Heatmap
Every day you complete your revision queue, your streak grows. A GitHub-style 90-day heatmap shows your consistency at a glance. Pair it with the daily habit notification to never break the chain.
