Terms of Service
Welcome to PrepParity. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the PrepParity website, application, and related services provided by Devnexora Technologies Pvt. Ltd. ("Devnexora", "we", "us", or "our").
1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering for an account, accessing, or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to any of these terms, you must not use the Service.
2. Account Registration
To access certain features of PrepParity, you must register for an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
- Maintain the security and confidentiality of your login credentials (via Magic Links or OTP).
- Accept full responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false information or are used for fraudulent purposes.
3. Content You Upload
You are solely responsible for all documents you upload to PrepParity. By uploading any document, you confirm that:
- (a) You own the copyright to the document, OR
- (b) You have explicit permission from the copyright holder to process it for personal study, OR
- (c) The document is in the public domain or freely available for personal educational use.
Prohibited Uploads
Uploading paid proprietary materials from any coaching institute, commercial publisher, or third-party content provider without their authorisation is prohibited under these Terms.
PrepParity processes uploaded documents solely to assist your personal UPSC preparation. We do not store, reproduce, or distribute your document content to any third party. All uploaded files are permanently deleted within 60 minutes of processing.
PrepParity expressly disclaims liability for any copyright infringement arising from documents uploaded by users without proper authorisation. Users who violate these terms bear full legal responsibility for their uploads.
4. PrepParity as an Intermediary
PrepParity operates solely as an intermediary platform as defined under Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
PrepParity does not initiate, select, modify, or control the content of documents uploaded by users. The processing pipeline operates neutrally on any text content provided — it does not examine, evaluate, or make judgments about the copyright status or ownership of uploaded material. PrepParity has no practical means of verifying the provenance, ownership, or licensing status of documents uploaded by users.
As a neutral technology intermediary, PrepParity's engine extracts and structures text solely for the purpose of assisting the uploading user's personal study. No uploaded content is transmitted to, shared with, or made accessible to any other user or third party at any time. All uploaded files are permanently deleted from our systems within 60 minutes of processing, with no permanent copy retained.
PrepParity does not exercise editorial control over user uploads. The responsibility for ensuring that any uploaded document is uploaded with proper authorisation rests entirely and solely with the user. PrepParity bears no liability for content uploaded by users in violation of applicable copyright law, consistent with the safe harbour protections available to intermediaries under applicable Indian law.
Upon receiving a valid takedown notice from a verified copyright holder, PrepParity will act expeditiously to disable access to the flagged content in accordance with its obligations under applicable law. Takedown requests should be submitted to legal@prepparity.com with sufficient detail to identify the allegedly infringing material.
5. Acceptable Use & Restrictions
PrepParity is a tool designed for personal, non-commercial exam preparation. You explicitly agree not to:
- Upload copyrighted coaching materials, textbooks, or publications for the purpose of redistribution or creating a public repository.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the Service, including our extraction models or PYQ databases.
- Use automated scripts, scrapers, or bots to interact with our APIs or bulk-download content.
- Share your account credentials with multiple individuals (account pooling).
Violation Consequence
Violation of the Acceptable Use policy will result in immediate account termination without refund and potential legal action.
6. Intellectual Property
Platform Ownership
Devnexora retains all rights, title, and interest in PrepParity, including the PYQ database curation, Cheat Codes, UI/UX designs, algorithms, and underlying code.
User Ownership
You retain full ownership of the notes you generate, earn, or create on our platform. We do not claim copyright over your personal typed or handwritten answers.
7. Subscriptions & Billing
PrepParity offers a free tier with limited features, plus paid Standard and Pro subscriptions.
- Billing Cycle: Subscriptions are available on monthly or annual billing. Annual plans include a 17% discount.
- Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless canceled beforehand.
- Payment Processors: We use Razorpay to process payments. By subscribing, you agree to their terms of service regarding payment processing.
- No Refunds: All subscriptions are non-refundable once activated. See Section 8 for the full Refund Policy.
8. Refund Policy
PrepParity subscriptions are non-refundable once activated.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation, your access continues until the end of your current billing period (monthly or annual). After the billing period ends, your account reverts to the Free plan — all your existing notes and data are preserved and remain accessible, and you can continue using PrepParity within the Free plan's limits.
Exception
If PrepParity experiences a service outage exceeding 48 consecutive hours, you may request a prorated refund for the affected period by contacting hello@prepparity.com.
Failed or interrupted payments
If a payment fails but your account is debited — for example, your bank debits the amount but the transaction does not complete — no subscription is activated, and the amount is automatically refunded to your original payment method by your bank or card issuer, typically within 5–7 working days (certain cards may take up to 10 working days). Any refund we approve under this policy is likewise issued to the original payment method used for the transaction within the same timeframe. Exact timing depends on your bank or card network.
This policy is consistent with Indian consumer protection guidelines for digital subscription services.
9. Service Availability
We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime. However, PrepParity is provided on a "reasonable effort" basis. We do not provide a strict uptime guarantee, especially for users on the free tier.
The Service may be occasionally interrupted for scheduled maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., third-party API outages).
10. Disclaimers & Warranties
No Guarantee of Exam Success
PrepParity is an educational software aid. We do not guarantee success, selection, or improved performance in the UPSC Civil Services Examination or any other test. Your results depend entirely on your own effort, intelligence, and preparation strategy.

13. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. All provisions of the Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive termination, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms, the Privacy Policy, or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in New Delhi, India.
